Went outside to check on the goats, heard a kid screaming. Thought one of the kids had hurt themselves, scrambled over the fence, and WHAT do I find lying on the ground waiting for me?!
A strong, healthy DOE kid (with a fine set of lungs!) Talisha has her all by herself, and really quickly, too. She hadn't been in labour when I fed the other kids their lunch.
This is so, so sososososSO good! Like you wouldn't believe!
Talisha's a first time mum, and an Anglo Nubians (who are all a bit hopeless) and didn't have a CLUE what to do. So brought the baby inside, stuck her in the recycling crate, then went and milked mum. Above is her first feed.
